คือสายเคเบิลใยแก้วนำแสงประสิทธิภาพสูงที่ออกแบบมาสำหรับเครือข่ายศูนย์ข้อมูล (Data Center) ความหนาแน่นสูงและความเร็วสูง โดยเป็นการรวมกันของเทคโนโลยีการเชื่อมต่อขั้นสูงและไฟเบอร์มัลติโหมดล่าสุด
ประโยชน์และจุดเด่นของ MTP®/MPO 8F MM OM5
- รองรับเทคโนโลยี SWDMOM5 ถูกออกแบบมาเพื่อรองรับเทคโนโลยี SWDM โดยเฉพาะ
- ทำให้สามารถส่งข้อมูลความเร็วสูง (เช่น 100G, 200G, และ 400G) โดยใช้จำนวนไฟเบอร์น้อยลง
- OM5 ให้แบนด์วิดท์ที่สูงกว่า OM3 และ OM4 โดยเฉพาะที่ความยาวคลื่นหลายช่วง
- การลดการสูญเสียสัญญาณ (Low Attenuation) มีค่าการลดทอนสัญญาณที่ต่ำลงเมื่อเทียบกับ OM3/OM4 ในบางช่วงความยาวคลื่น
